In search to improve the scope of security in Abeokuta North Local Government and in a spirit to ensure all the Youths therein are creatively endowed; the Executive Chairman in the Local Government Area, Dr. Oyegbola-Sodipo 'Lanre has donated two operational Motorcycles to Amotekun in the Division and at same time will begin 20,000 slots Youth Employments Program slated between Wednesday 4th of March till Wednesday 12th of March 2025.
He made this known during courtesy visit of AMOTEKUN CORPS to the Local Government Secretariat on Friday 28th, 2025.
The Amotekun delegation, led by the coordinator in - charge of ANLG, Mr Fowotade Azeez, expressed appreciation for the chairman's hospitality, support and mutual understanding.
Mr Fowotade stressed the importance of partnership with Local Government in Strengthening Community based Security initiatives in order to tackle relapsing security challenges.
Responding, Dr. Oyegbola commends the Amotekun corps for it's sacrifices, dedication and relentless efforts in safeguarding lives and properties as security remains a top priority for his led administration.
"Indeed Amotekun corps has proven to be a vital force in maintaining adequate security in our communities and as Government, we are committed to providing the necessary support to enhance your smooth operations and ensure the safety of our people ", said Dr. Oyegbola.
The Chairman also assured the corps of his administration's readiness to facilitate logistics and other resources to bolster their effectiveness.
He also charged the corps delegation to face out criminality and any form of illicit acts out of the Council Area and urged residents of ANLG to continue cooperating with the Amotekun corps and other security agencies by providing urgent and formidable information to aid their operations.
