Nigeria's 64th Independence Day: DDS Foundation Founder Calls for Government to Prioritize Citizens' Welfare

As Nigeria celebrates its 64th Independence Day, Dr. Seun Sokan, founder of DDS Foundation, has urged the government to prioritize the welfare of its citizens.

In a statement released today, Dr. Sokan emphasized that despite Nigeria's abundance of resources, the country still lacks major infrastructural development and many citizens live in abject poverty due to bad governance and mismanagement.

According to him "It is unfortunate that Nigeria is still crawling at this stage, and the majority of its citizens are living in abject poverty,"

"This year's celebration should be a point of rethink and re-evaluation to see how far we have missed it and to start doing what is right.", he said.

Dr. Sokan also revealed the efforts of his foundation, which recently concluded a Back to School program in Odogbolu Odogbolu local government, providing millions of worth of materials to over 12 schools.

He said  "With our foundation's activities, we have seen how people are suffering and how difficult it is for them to feed,"

"I want to beg the government to start thinking about the masses and how to make life better for them."
