HIGH COURT FIXES OCTOBER 3 TO HEAR OGUNMAKIN 'OBASHIP' TUSSLE

The High Court in Ogun State yesterday has fixed October 3 2024, for hearing Obaship tussle filed by one of the contestants therein, Chief Oluseye Olatunde Olaogun against the elected Oba Ramoni Busari Ayinde and Oba Adedapo Tejuosho ( The Osile of Oke -Ona Egba), Chief  Felix Obe ( The Akinlagu of Ikereku), Chief Gbenro Kehinde, the Egba Traditional Council of Chiefs, the Governor of Ogun State and the Honorable Commissioner, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy affairs; Hon. Hamzat Ganiyu

High Court in Abeokuta fixed the date after hearing the preliminary applications on the legal action  on the Ogunmakin stool presided over by Justice S.O. Adeniyi.

The case was later adjourned as a result of the inability of the counsel for Chief Oluseye Olatunde Olaogun, the claimant, not properly serve the defendants before the hearing date.

The case involves Chief Oluseye Olatunde Olaogun, who is suing on behalf of himself, the Baales and Chiefs of Ogunmakin Town, the Ogunmakin Traditional Council of Chiefs, and the entire indigenous population of Ogunmakin. 

The defendants include Ramoni Busari Ayinde, Oba Adedapo Tejuosho (The Osile of Oke-Ona Egba), Chief Felix Obe (The Akinlagu of Ikereku), Chief Moruf Ajisegiri, Chief Gbenro Kehinde, the Egba Traditional Council of Chiefs, the Governor of Ogun State, and the Honorable Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

Chief Oluseye Olatunde Olaogun is represented by Otunba Ayodele, supported by I. Emmanuel and O.O. Ayodele. 

Elvis Keshi, supported by Simisola Familola, represents the first respondent, Busari Adenshile, along with Oba Adedapo Tejuosho, Chief Felix Obe, Chief Moruf Ajisegiri, Chief Gbenro Kehinde, and the Egba Traditional Council of Chiefs. A.O. Adepegba represents the seventh and eighth respondents.

"The court recognizes the need for proper service of applications to all parties involved to ensure a fair hearing," stated Justice Adeniyi. "The hearing is thus adjourned to October 3, 2024."

This development marks a critical point in the dispute, as both parties prepare for the upcoming hearing, hoping for a resolution to the Obaship conflict that has stirred significant attention within the Ogunmakin community.
